Shiv Patel, M.D.

Dr. Shiv Patel, board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine, prioritizes the quality of life for his patients through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to pain management. With a firm belief in tailoring treatment plans to each individual, Dr. Patel addresses a full spectrum of disorders and specializes in performing a variety of minimally invasive procedures. These include epidurals, medial branch blocks, nerve blocks, neurotomies, joint injections, SCS trials/implants, SI fusions, and more. His treatments are designed not only to alleviate pain but also to promote overall health and functionality, aligning closely with his patients’ long-term wellness goals.

Dr. Patel values open communication and patient education, guiding individuals towards informed choices in managing their health. He fosters a supportive environment rooted in medical best practices, collaborating closely with patients to explore comprehensive treatment options that prioritize non-opiate interventions whenever possible.

Dr. Patel obtained his degree in Human Physiology from Boston University, followed by his medical education at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Subsequently, he completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine and pursued his Pain Medicine Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Patel and his wife developed a deep affection for Texas during their stay in Houston and couldn’t envision settling anywhere other than in the Lone Star State. During his leisure time, he finds joy in the company of his family, friends, and dogs. Dr. Patel also engages in outdoor pursuits such as biking, basketball, tennis, and swimming.
