JOHN JAMISON, M.D.
Dr. John Jamison opened his Orthopedic Practice in Southwest Dallas County in 1986. After graduating from Rice University, he attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he completed a General Surgery Internship followed by an Orthopedic Residency program from 1981- 1986 at UTMB.
As a Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern, he served on the faculty of the Methodist Health System Family Practice Sports Medicine Fellowship program. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
In addition to general Orthopedics, Dr. Jamison’s special interests include sports injuries, knee injuries and shoulder injuries. As an accomplished author, Dr. Jamison has a number of articles and chapters on the topics of orthopedics and sports medicine. Over the years, in conjunction with the Methodist Sports Medicine program, he has served as team physician or consultant for Duncanville High School, DeSoto High School, Cedar Hill High School and Midlothian High School, Dallas Baptist University, Northwood University and SAGU.
Dr. Jamison is currently team physician for DeSoto High School. In 2008, he was named an honorary member of the Southwest Athletic Trainer’s Association. When not working at AOA, Dr. Jamison enjoys travel and golf. He proudly currently serves as an Orthopedic Consultant for the Mission Arlington Medical Clinic.
